2011 June 9 - Baby Food DIY
My first attempt of making baby food. It turns out to be super easy! I only wish I have done this sooner.
Basically, all you need to do is STEAM and BLEND.
(If you are still not sure, check out this video "Making Your Own Baby Food".)
Here are some of my tips:
a) Always make sure the veges are fully cooked before blending.
- If you are steaming different veges all together, some might get cooked faster than the others. You wouldn't want to over-cook it, or under-cook it. Check often.
2) Always make sure there aren't any big chunks in the puree before feeding.
- I did notice some veges are harder to blend than the others.
3) Any types of steamer and food processor will do, as long as it gets the job done.
- Don't need to purchase something expensive just for making baby food. I used my rice cooker steamer, and Magic Bullet.
4) I froze the steamed veges rather than blended baby food.
- This way, I can mix and match right before feeding.
