2021 May 6 - Chocolate Chip Scones
Recipe
All purpose flour: 2 cups
Granulated sugar: 1/2 cup
Salt: 1/2 tsp
Baking powder: 2 1/2 tsp
Unsalted butter: 1/2 cup (1 stick) - cut into pea size
Butter milk / heavy cream: 1/2 cup
Egg: 1
Pure vanilla extract: 1 1/2 tsp
Chocolate chips: 1 1/2 cups
If adding fruit, use fresh or frozen (do not thaw)
Cooking Instructions
Mix the dry ingredients with butter (keep refrigerated if possible)
Drizzle in the wet ingredients
Roll the dough into 8'' disk, and cut into 8 pieces
Brush with remaining butter milk or heavy cream, sprinkle with coarse sugar
Refrigerate for 15 mins
Oven 400F for 23 mins
